You see, yesterday was day one of P90X. It kicked my butt. I thought I was hardcore and then this workout put me in my place. But I am going to stick with it. I just might need a little push, and that's where you all come in. In an attempt to keep me motivated, I am going to put myself out there. I am sharing my before pictures and measurements. And after each phase, I am going to check in here. (Does anyone else see how this could totally blow up in my face?) So, here it goes.
Day 1:
Weight: 152
Body Fat Percentage: 23%
Chest: 35 1/2"
Waist: 30 3/4"
Hips: 37"
Thighs: 22"
Biceps: 11 1/2"
Wow, that was totally liberating and kind of scary. Anyway, as a thank you for helping me attempt to stick to this program, I want to motivate you in return. And I thought, what better way to do that than a giveaway. So, one lucky reader will win two things that keep me moving: FOOD and MUSIC.
The winner will receive a box of 6 Clif Bars - Chocolate Brownie and a $15 iTunes Gift Card. Here's how to enter. (One Comment Per Entry Please)
1. Become a follower of this blog and leave me a comment to let me know you did.
2. Become a fan of the Racing With Babes Facebook Page HERE and leave me a comment to let me know you did.
3. Repost this giveaway on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc and leave me a comment to let me know you did.

ReplyDeleteWhat motivates me...
ReplyDeleteI know in my logical mind that if I do certain things then I will feel happy and content even if I don't feel like doing it right now. I know I will be able to effectively deal with stress. Its hard to overcome the emotional things like fear and such but I push through anyways.
I also love good music and it gets me going when I feel lazy or insecure and other people certainly do motivate me. I will see someone do something and I think, "well hell, I can do that too!"
Posted on my blog, in my siedbar.
ReplyDeleteI just became a fan on FB! Love your blog!! Good luck with P90X! You look fabulous already though!

ReplyDeleteGreat post! I am excited to follow your progress. You inspire me! When you get a chance you'll have to give a little info on what this whole program entails.
ReplyDeleteCertainly I am motivated when I've told others of my goals which is why I started my blog when I decided to shoot for 1000 miles this year. I was a little scared to make such a goal but now that I am doing it I realize it isn't so bad after all.
What else motivates me? Knowing I am being active and helping my kids to be too. Feeling good in my clothes!
I've rambled enough . . .
I am a loyal follower...love your running skirts (you lucky dog!) and I love all of your cute socks!
ReplyDeleteI just posted this contest on my blog!
ReplyDeleteMy son is my #1 motivator! When I wanted to quit on my half over the weekend, I thought of him and how I want to raise him with the "No Quit" mentality! This helped me push through the pain and finish my 1st half marathon!
ReplyDeleteSome of the things that really motivate me are the comments and encouragement that I get from all of my blogging, twitter, and daily mile friends!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower of your blog
ReplyDelete152? Really? You must have a lot of muscle already. I'm excited to "be" with you on this journey.
I'm a fan of Racing with Babes on FB {do you know your link doesn't work?}
ReplyDeleteMotivation....well right now it's the motivation to finish the marathon because I've already told everyone I'm running it. I will not embarrass myself by quitting or backing out {even only running the 1/2}.
ReplyDeleteOverall, it's the motivation that I want my kids to not think twice about exercise. For it to be normal.

ReplyDeleteThe number on the scale is a BIG motivator, although I know it shouldn't be. The things that motivates me most is how my clothes fit. If I am uncomfortable in my jeans or feel like my shirts aren't hiding my flaws, I do something about it.
ReplyDeleteHaving a goal is also motivating. That goal is usually a race.
I'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteAnd I follow you on FB

ReplyDeleteWhat motivates me is reading other women's amazing blogs. I picked up the book "Run Like a Mother" randomly a few weeks ago. I'm not yet a mother, but a very busy woman and trying to fit running into my life. Then I found the RLAM blog, and then I found your blog. I have to say, your energy, running skirts, and socks are what are motivating me lately! You make it look so effortless and fun! I love to think of all these amazing women out there running with me. Keep up the amazing work!

YOU motivate me. You motivate me to be a better writer, an excellent student, to do planks so I can have rock solid abs and to RUN like a MOTHER. You are a force of nature, and IF my self esteem was a notch higher, I would so totally put my own before P90X photos up and work out (to lower my Body Fat %, get big "guns, and tone my a**)... but as it is, I suck. Just sayin'.

ReplyDeleteI have been motivated lately by the fact that I promised myself I would run a marathon before I was 40. I'm turning 38 in about a week and I can't even run a 5k. I keep promises to everyone else. It's high time I keep one to myself! Btw, congrats on beginning P90X. You are a rockstar!
ReplyDeleteI'm following your blog now-- just found you this morning!
ReplyDeleteI became a fan of Running With Babes on Facebook this morning- which is how I found YOU (so glad I did!)!!
ReplyDeletePosted a link to your giveaway on Facebook :) Spreadin' the love...
ReplyDeleteWhat motivates me? DESPERATION.. to find myself again. After years of giving, giving, and some floundering..I realized I've set aside ME and dreams that I would pull out of my "I wish I could.." compartment from my head- toy with the idea, deem myself incapable for this reason or that- and stuff it back in the compartment & shut the lid. I've just recently had this "a-ha" moment where I decided I'm opening that "I wish" compartment in my head- pull out a dream at a time and pounce on it- ACHIEVE it or at least give it my all to make it a reality. I'm tackling my aspiration of becoming a photographer and NOW..to run a marathon. I've always wanted to say "Marathon? Yeah- I did that!" and feel confident in my strength & physical capability. And it's GONNA happen.
