Things have changed in the last month or so. Dizzle and Doodle are CONSTANTLY fighting. Dizzle starts with the teasing and it usually ends with Doodle getting physical. And I.AM.SICK.OF.IT. So, in an effort to make the start and end of our day less stressful, I split the girls up. Dizzle would remain in the room they were sharing, and Doodle would return to her old room (formerly known as my guest room).
As expected in my house, the Dizzle and Doodle spent yesterday bickering. I just kept thinking, "I definitely made the right choice splitting them up." Then just when I couldn't take their behavior anymore, J walked in the door. And suddenly my girls were best friends (maybe they are bi-polar). They were goofing around in the bathtub. Jumping on Doodle's bed. Laughing uncontrollably. When I told them it was time for bed and to say good night to each other, I was instantly hit with how close they are. Dizzle turned to Doodle and said, "Let's do a Bouncing Belly Jack!"
J and I looked at each other puzzled. When we looked back at the girls, they had both lifted their shirts and were belly bumping. It was hysterical. And instantly made me wonder what else they come up with when we close their bedroom door every night ...

What a sweet story! My brother and I used to fight constantly too.
Your kids are too much! :-)
That's so funny! Our girls share rooms, as well (the 2 oldest are together and the 2 youngest are together). They also FIGHT. Like cats and dogs sometimes. But, they are also each other's best friends.
I only have brothers, always wanted a sister. I think sisters just have a bond no one else will ever be able to understand.
Lucky girls : )
My twin sister and I shared a room for a while. I was so much fun and we came up with silly songs and talked until we passed out. Great memories.
What is it about Dad walking through the door that changes the dynamics so much! It's the same here...I suppose that is why my dear husband doesn't quite get it when I lament about the constant fighting! When you spend so much time seperating the fights it is soooo nice to see the little things (belly bumping) I know it really gets me through the next day!
Ahhhhhhhh .... sisters...... the very best!
Such a great story. Thanks for sharing!
I LOVE my little sister, but even now that I'm 30 and she is 21 we still have our moments! They are lucky girls to have one another!
That is so sweet. It does make you wish you could watch them without them knowing. I can only imagine the cuteness they come up with.
With the age gaps between my kids you'd think it would be different....it's not. One minute they want to kill each other and the next they are sticking up for one another if someone else is picking at them. They simply love to dislike eachother! ;-)
I have little sisters who are 2 years apart and they have always had a relationship like that... BIPOLAR! It's always been kind of amusing to me (I'm 7 years older than the older one).
Anyway, cute story ... thanks for sharing. :)
That's what having a sister is. My baby sister and I fought constantly as kids. Now we are super close. If she doesn't call me one day on her way home from work, I wonder if something's wrong.
My girls fight too. I want them to be close and to appreciate each other. But you just have to let them work it out sometimes.
What is their age difference? This reminds me so much of me and my sister growing up. Fighting sometimes, but we were super close and had some of the best times together too.
I believe it's normal behavior...just wait...they will be BEST FRIENDS before you know it!
oh i love this! you have raised some great girls tonia! what a lovely family you have.....thanks for linking my giveaway on your side bar!
too cute! My older sister & I were tight like that. My younger sister & I fought like that. :D
Sibling relationships are always so puzzling. Just when you think you have the dynamic figured out, they turn it all upside down.
I love your motherhood stories! Your girls look so innocent in that picture, its hard to picture them fighting :)
I think that learning to get on with your siblings is great practice for learning to get on with strangers. Siblings rub off all the rough edges.
Great post, they sound a cute handful.
How funny. My kids do things like that. Sometimes they can't stand the sight of each other, but when they can be partners in crime, they are inseparable.
Great post...I love your kid stories :)
OMG, that is hilarious!! :)
Very funny!
My guys are best buds, but now that they are getting older, they are bickering more and more. On Friday night, though, they didn't want me to tuck them in; they wanted to curl up together and have a sleepover.
I wonder if I'll ever have a precious moment like that again.
they sound like sisters for sure! your girls are adorable!:)
This is so typical of siblings! I have two boys, four years apart and at times they get along beautifully and at other times, they are trying to kill each other. The latter totally grates on my nerves!
The girls are adorable!
I have been thinking about putting my girls together for the same reason - I picture them sharing secrets (once my 1-year-old decides to start talking!) and giggling in the dark. This made me want it for them even more!
Oh the JOYS of sisterhood.. My boys share a room, I HOPE for a long time...
Kids! Just when you think you have them figured out they change it up. Wonderful.
Love the belly bumping...how could that not make you smile?
