sh*t happens ...

This morning I had a plan for a post. I was going to write about how I ran 16 miles between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. (eight last night on the treadmill and eight this morning with G). This is post run this morning. Aren't we cute?

Then, I was going to wax poetic about how I rocked this outfit (thanks to a confidence boost from P90X and some very supportive bloggy comments).

And I had planned to share with you how the last five miles of my run this morning was my five miler for Katye's National Running Day Virtual Race. But, that plan has been thrown out the window, because, sh*t happens. Literally.

You see, when I got back from my early morning run today, Dilly was still in bed. I had time to shower and eat and get Dizzle and Doodle ready for the day BEFORE I heard Dilly crying. This is typical. Dilly is a great sleeper. The not-so-typical part happened when I opened her bedroom door. There she was. 25 pounds of total cuteness holding a poop-filled diaper in her right hand. WTF?!?!

Now, let me say, my kid is a freaking Houdini. She was still fully dressed (in a one piece outfit) with all of the snaps between the legs still together. Yet, somehow, she managed to take off her extremely messy diaper. Poop was everywhere. All over her. All over the crib. And when I walked in, she simply handed me the diaper and started grunting and motioning towards the pile of feces laying in her crib, as to say, "What are you looking at Stupid? Pick it up!"

And that's exactly what I did. I picked the crap up. Then I stripped her down and threw her in the bath. It was not pretty. And she still kind of smells. But like I said, sh*t happens ...

First off, at least you got the run in! You look awesome in the outfit.

And, I think all of us moms have had the sh*t covered crib experience at least once. Oh, so much fun...

You look great! You are a walking bilboard for P90X! Congrats on all the hard work :)

Uh, yeah, that story does not help me in the baby making process. Yuck! Good for you for not killing her, I think I would have had vomit to all clean up as I know I would have puked!
Happy Wednesday!

Oh, you made my morning!!!! I laughed my head off remembering my poop covered day. Son, who survived and made it to 18 this week, was supposed to be napping and instead flung his diaper at the walls, all over his bed and then scooted his bum all over the carpet in his room. I nearly puked! Had to go over it 3 times with the carpet cleaner....almost cloroxed it!

Don't you love the joys of motherhood!?

Did she rub some on the walls? LBM usually paints the wall if he gets his dirty diaper off. You might have to start wearing them on her backwards so she can't see the tabs.

So glad you got your run in first. Too bad you had already taken your shower. ;-) Being a mommy is gReAt!

Yeah for the good run in first.
I have no clue how kids manage to take diapers off without stripping down.

Oh no! I hope your day improves!

HOT! Love the outfit! P90X is truly amazing...they should start putting you on commission. Sorry about the unexpected. The run will happen another day...

Oh good God. I'd probably loose my mind. Well, maybe not but still. I've never had to deal with poop everywhere. But I swear for a 6mo period one or the other of the girls would puke in my car every week or so. It is such a pain to take car seats out of the car much less puke filled grossness.

oy.
been there done that.
And notice how you'll never see this on a man's blog? because you know they'll never get to experience it just like us Moms!

Zoë said...

You look INCREDIBLE!! And what is with all this "crap" lately, huh? Hee hee.
Hope you get that run in...and I know you will.

Sarah said...

OK first, you look awesome! I think I need to bust out my Power 90 and get on it.

Second, all I can say is I'm so glad that has never happened to me! GAWD the gross things we deal with as parents. So so sorry you had to start the day off with that. Hopefully it can only get better!

I could not help but laugh at the sh*t happening! LOL

BTW - You look amazing! Keep up the great work. *so inspiring!*

You look great! I need your abs!

Sorry you had the dirty diaper experience this morning! I've been blasted by a robot all morning (i think he's trying to tell me that he wants me exterminated or something) so he has spent most of the day in time out and lost the robot for the day. Hope your day gets better!

Gotta love the kid poop stories! Luckily, neither of my boys ever did that. But, I have had my fair share of poopy "big boy undies" while potty training my 3 yr. old. Those are just nasty!

I had to laugh out loud... so funny... totally happened to me but she "painted" with it. So gross.

You are rocking that sports bra!

Shannon said...

But despite it all, you got in some good running! I think a good run makes daily stresses easier to deal with. Hope tomorrow starts off a little better :)

Hilarious! One of the first blog posts I had to read out loud to my husband. Great running and you look awesome BTW!

You look great!!! I feel your pain with the poop...how the heck do they do get the diaper off while fully dressed? It's amazing what a kid can do when they put their mind to it. Hahaha!

Char said...

Ha ha. Don't you just love babies. When my now-16-year-old was a baby he managed to projectile poo over 4 feet. So cute! (not)

Julie D. said...

HA! Been there. done that. and it is NOT fun. that is hilarious that she was able to get the diaper off like that. Sounds like a couple of great runs though. Starting P90x this week. a little scared.

OrangeBlossom said...

You rock in your picture!!! Bring it! (P90X talk)

Ahh, yes. I've had the poop disaster a few times (5 kids). They are amazing at what they can do, eh?

Thanks for the great laugh.

Good job with the run and you do look fabulous in that outfit!

I am dreading the day that my Maggie discovers that she can take her diaper off herself. She likes to play in her bed when she wakes up so I can totally see this happening to us! Hopefully it is a one time only event for you!!! :)

My kids have so done that before!!!! I'm sorry! That is a "crappy" day :)
