Three Things Thursday ...

Yesterday was rough, you know, with all the sh*t and everything. But today has already proven to be much better. So without further ado, I bring to you Three Things Thursday ...

1. Last night was Dizzle's preschool graduation ceremony (school ended last week). I took Dizzle and Doodle to Target to get new dresses for the occasion. Aren't they cute?

I realized after looking at the pictures that I often dress the girls in matching or coordinating outfits. I think they look adorable. But, I distinctly remember my mom doing this to me and my sister Angie Pants. And I hated it. (This is me and Angie Pants in March).

I didn't want to be like my sister. I often wonder if the girls feel this way too (or if they ever will). Fortunately, I outgrew that dislike for my sister. And now, I am proud to be associated with her (and I am even prouder of all that she has accomplished). In fact, Angie Pants (and my other sister Chache, for that matter) are two of my best friends. I hope my girls feel the same way when they are older.

2. Three weeks from today, J and I will be in Key West for our first kid-free vacation EVER! The last time we went on vacation without the girls was our honeymoon, six years ago. Wow, we were young!
I booked this trip as part of J's 30th birthday gift and it just so happens to fall on our sixth anniversary. Pretty good planning by me, right? So, if you've ever been to Key West and have any recommendations, let me know ...

3. So, my girl Katye is running her FIRST marathon this weekend in San Diego! This is us at the MAC Half in early May.

I am so excited for her and I know she is going to do amazingly. So, head over to her blog and leave her some love. Good luck, Katye!

Awww, the girls look CUTE in their matching dresses. When they're old enough not to want to match anymore, I'm sure they'll tell you. :)

EXCITING for Key West!!!

Thanks for the tip on the photo skills!
The photos of sisters are great! You all are just too cute!
I long for a time with just me and my man. We are such good friends and have a blast together but are always so busy with the boys. I miss just hangin' with him.
Have wonderful time on your trip and lots of photos!!

I love sibling pictures! I love to see all the similarities and differences. I am always convinced that my brother and I look nothing alike, but I can't deny it when we're in a picture side by side.

Have a fabulous vacation! Make sure to enjoy it and don't get distracted by worrying about what's happening back on the home front.

I will be cheering Katye on out here in cali!

I match my boys too...I love it. My sister and I are 18 months apart, my mom would dress us alike but with different colors...I liked it. I wanted to be like my sister at the time.

LOVE LOVE the pictures.

Thanks for the reminder about Katye... WOW!

Love the dresses, my daughter has the yellow, pink and orange one.
Also, love the pic of you and your hubby, it so fun seeing how people looked when they were younger (you look mostly the same BTW). :)

The girls look beautiful. My mom did the same matchy matchy with me and my older sister. We looked cute but I don't know if I like it or not at the time.

I am sure you guys will love getting away together and the kids will appreciate you both when you get home - all nice and tan! Wear sunscreen!

I'm heading over to send speedy fun wishes to Katye!

When my boys were younger, I frequently put them in coordinating outfits, and then would unconsciously choose the same color for myself!
I love the pic of you and your sister, and the one of your girls. You have a beautiful family of curly girls!!

I am SUPER jealous of your vacation away from the kids! It will be wonderful. And you'll totally rock your swimwear.

Out of curiosity, have you seen a black running skirt with purple flowers on it anywhere? I saw one at my race last week and I have been hunting high and low for it because I MUST HAVE IT. ;) I kick myself for not asking its owner where she got it!!

Key West is awesome! We went there last spring, but we had the kids, so our priorities were different. ;o) Have a great time. We are going away for the weekend for the first time since Shoo was born and only the second time since Jones was born. Thank goodness we were married for 7 years before kids. ;o)

Love the pics of the girls and of you and your sister. All of you are just beautiful.

Your comment about dressing in similar outfits reminds me of my childhood. I have four sisters and a couple of times a year Mum would get sewing and make us all the same dresses or variations on a theme. I didn't like it much either.

Went to Key West for my honeymoon...

YOU WILL LOVE IT!

And its probably great pic being your not bringing the kids. The one thing I told people about Key West was it seemed like a very "adult" tourist spot. Not many kids runnin around.

Amazing the similarities between you and your sister and the pic of your girls!

Have a great time in Key West and the kid free vaca!

Love the pics...you all look gorgeous! If I didn't know, I'd think the pic of the girls were you and your sister younger :)
