shock factor ...

I have always been the type of person to try things because "it sounds like fun" or because "there's no reason not to" (which was the reasoning behind my first marathon). And while I am not rebellious when it comes to authority (total rule follower here), I am rebellious when it comes to my style.

For example, as a teenager, I had 13 earrings on the outer lobes of my ears. I also had that little spot on the inside of the ear next to the cheek (totally blanking on the name) pierced, which I did myself. And because that wasn't enough, I also put a piece of metal in my eyebrow, nose, belly button and tongue - all by my 18th birthday. Add all of that to my two tattoos and hair that ranged from blue to pink and well, my style was ... UNIQUE.

I guess I kind of feel that you either go big or go home. And going home is NOT AN OPTION.

You might say, I am all about the shock factor. And you would probably be right. Because last night, I looked like this ...

And thanks to J and a pair of clippers, this morning, I look like this ...
Shocking, right?

It looks awesome! And frankly, short of deciding not to run anymore, I'm not sure you could shock me. ;o)

love that you are still rocking the head bands! Seriously you are one of the few people who can totally pull this off. It looks awesome! I think it needs some pink streaks though...

LOVE IT! You can totally pull this off - maybe though, you shoudl have done it at the beginning of summer? Now you're head will be cold! LOL! I do love it!

I have threatened a bajillion times to do that! I just couldn't rock the look like you do though. Some people got it, some people don't. You got it, sister!

And I think I speak for most everyone here when I say we NEED to see photos of you in your teenage years.

You have the face to pull this off, for sure!

I did something close to this two years ago. I wanted to get back to my roots so to speak and find out what my true hair color was, so I cut it all (almost) off. After having loooooong bleached blonde hair for 20 years, it was true freedom! It's grown out now and it's dark and healthy!

My husband just started talking to me again about a month ago ;-)

You are way braver than me! But you can pull it off. I'm sure it will make you faster, too. ; )

Oh WOW!! You totally have the shock factor down! lol... what a difference!! But seriously... you rock that look! Not a whole lot of us girls could like that great in a hairstyle like that! YAY YOU!! :D

You wait until after the 100 days of 100 degrees to take it all off????? I used number 5 clippers on my hair every 2 weeks for 7 years - it was the greatest!!! Enjoy (though, be on the look out for a warm winter cap to wear for you daily errands). NICE!

I miss having my hair that short. It was so easy to basically wash and go! Very cute. Hope you enjoy it! Hope we'll get to see a pic without the headband. :)

I envy you...I could never take that leap!

You asked me about cupcakes...I have never tried Two Sweet Cupcakes, but I will now! I have tried Frosting out by Trader Joes...the chocolate cupcakes are amazing. As for Carytown Cupcakes, they are ok, but not the best. The plain vanilla with vanilla buttercream is your best bet at this one.

Looks great - think of the time it will save. I actually loved my hair short - BUT once I had cancer and lost my hair - I kind of like having it a little longer . . . but I think about getting it cut off every once an a while.

ENJOY!!!

You look amazing!!! I had a moment a few months ago when I thought I could go short but couldn't do it. I don't think I could pull it off like you do. It really is cute.

Anyway, love the shocking new 'do!
