Three Things Thursday ...

1. So, preschool started for Doodle on Monday. Here's a few obligatory first day photos ...

Things are going rather smoothly. And I'm not really shocked. I don't exactly have "clinging" children. In fact, I am pretty sure that they prefer it when I am not around. Whatever. Who really cares? It's not like I sacrificed my body and mind for them or anything. Wait, wait, wait. That wasn't my point. What I was going to say is that the start of preschool has shown me that Doodle may be as OCD as I am. When I asked her what she thought she was going to do at school yesterday this is what she said ...

"First, I am going to wash my hands. Then I am going to play at the rice table. Then it is circle time. Then I am going to have snack. Then it will be time to play outside. And then we will have lunch. And then I will go potty."

Um, OK, Doodle. I didn't realize that you had your day quite so planned. Or that bathroom breaks are now scheduled ...

2. I totally forgot what running with a stroller is like. Yesterday, G, D and 3L headed out for our first 10 mile stroller run of the year. And it was ROUGH.

Of course, I was stupid and let G (who is notorious for hilly routes) plan our run. I was feeling good for the first 5.5 miles (running a 9:35 pace), but just before mile 6, G offered to push the stroller. I let her and I just about died. Apparently, running with the stroller and then passing the stroller off is worse than just running with the stroller the whole time. It went downhill from that point on. Shockingly, we still finished the 10 miles with an average pace of 10:01. I guess it could have been worse ...

3. Although I have run 21 miles in the last three days, I still have 32 more to run this week. Tomorrow will be another attempt at 10 miles with the stroller (I won't be passing it off this time) and Saturday is my longest run of marathon training - 22 miles. I'm freaked out and totally confident at the same time. Wish me luck!

I do not envy the fact that you have to push a stroller while you run. Good luck on your long run this weekend!

doddle is too cute...I am interested to know why it was harder when you let go of the stroller I have such a hard time when pushing my stroller? Did it just mess up your momentum? Good luck with 22 you will rock it!

We all know you are going to KILL the 22.

Am loving the silly photo. Girls need these photos with their mom's. That what I say everyday anyway.

Dang, your daughter's eyes are soooo blue! I love them!

Good luck on the 22-miler.. my thoughts on pushing the stroller are similar to yours. Much harder if you pass off. Kinda like deciding to take a walk break, thinking it'll make the rest of the run easier. It only makes the running part harder again.

Awesome job on that 10 miler... HARDCORE MAMA with the stroller!!

Good luck with the rest of your miles this week. Big run for me this weekend too. We've got this!

Okay, now I know YOU'RE an addict, but don't you think sending your child to preschool with a coffee mug nearly as tall as she is might be a little young? hahaha

Good Luck, Tonia! you'll kill the 22. I've got mine too and I'm doing it 'out of town' and solo. Should be interesting. I'm so bummed because my alarm didn't go off this morning and I had 13 on the schedule for today...and a day packed full from start to finish and then we leave this afternoon to go out of town. SHOOT. not sure when i'm going to get today's run in.

Love the pics..and that she has totally planned her day..

Soooooo more importantly, at what point will you give your strong and amazing legs a little rest before next Sunday? Hmmmmmmm.. Because I will NOT, I repeat NOT, let you miss your goal because of tired legs... :) end of rant..

She is too cute. The first pix cracks me up - she looks like she is 25 years old (in a smaller body) and catching the train for her morning commute - travel coffee mug placed in both hands - - - too cute!!!!!

My middle one is the same way about her schedule. Down to the smallest detail.

Kuddo to you for stroller pushing for 10 miles. The longest I have ever done is a half marathon. It was only possible because LBM napping the majority of the time. Forget that happening now!

Enjoy your mega long run this weekend! 22! Wow!

I'm scared of the running stroller... and I plan to break it out when it finally cools off within the next month.

Doodle is gorgeous!!! Love her schedule. ;-)

Love love the Doodle story. I can't believe she knows when she is going to use the potty before she leaves home! Funny!

Three thoughts back at ya!

1)I too am curious why it was more difficult to run after passing the stroller.
2)What in the world is a rice table?
3)Your 22 will be awesome!
