erased ...

Dear child who will remain nameless,

In case you haven't realized, I am not your typical woman. I don't have expensive jewelry (other than my engagement ring) or handbags. I don't own dress shoes. The only time in the last 10 years that I wore makeup was at my wedding and I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't have the first clue about how to dress for a formal affair.

In addition to being low maintenance, I also don't have prized possessions. What's mine is yours and what's yours is mine. I let you wear my clothes, fumble in my shoes, screw around on my $600 cell phone and wear my medals as accessories. I am chill like that.

But, I have asked you time and time again, not to touch my GPS watch. It's expensive and unlike my phone, does not have a warranty plan. And above all, it has all of my runs stored in it. All of my splits. All of the elevation changes. Everything I use to analyze my training.

Or maybe I should say HAD all those things. Because thanks to your reckless button pushing, the memory on my watch has been ERASED. Thanks for that. It's freaking awesome.

Love always,
Mom

My stomach turned reading this. I am putting my Garmin up on a higher shelf now! How is it they always manage to find the ONE THING that is off limits? In a house FULL of crap you can mess with...

I'm so sorry this happened. :(

so are you now mom to only 2 girls? How long will she be staying with friends? Because I'm sure as soon as she knew she did it she took off running. And your kids are fast so I know you didn't catch and kill her.

I thought you were going to say they erased your digital pictures ... I think that would have been worse.
No fun though to lose your Garmin.

Aaahhhhh :( my son knows my watch is off limits. By last time his friend was over and he put on my watch. I cringed! I watched every move he made and told him to please put it down he could play with anything else in my house but that.

That a hard one. In moments like this I have to bust out my zen... "do not cause harm, do not cause harm". lol You'll have that watch filled up again in no time!

If you have a Garmin, uploading your data to Garmin Connect is the way to go - and it's free. I was using the Garmin Program on my computer, but I get better analysis out at Garmin Connect.

I failed to read the part where the unmentioned vermin received a beating. I'll have to go back and re-read!
