I am two days into P90X (plus I busted out a super speedy six miles yesterday) and I have come to realize that apparently, I have never used any of the muscles in my entire body. EVER. I am beyond sore. Seriously, it hurts to laugh (maybe the first signs of a six-pack?). And not being able to laugh makes me really upset, because my kids say some funny things. Take for example, yesterday. Dizzle and I were looking at the pictures that I took during her school trip on Tuesday. Specifically, this picture:
I said to her, "I wonder what that green stuff on the water is. Do you think if I threw you into that water that it would eat you?" To which she replied, "Mom. You're so silly. That's just ALLERGY." And because I was teetering between laughing and crying, I just didn't have the heart to correct her.

ahahah I laughed when I saw the title to this post, I am not laughing at you of course just with you, I know what the feels like and it sucks but feels soooo good! Kids are freaking cute I love um!!
hahaha thanks I needed that laugh :-D
I know when I did the p90x earlier this year that well lets just say it was an effort to bring my hand to my mouth to feed myself after about a week....but it does get better soon after that...I highly recommend doing the stretching routine...even off from the scheduled day just to get it in...It really helped those muscles stetch out and relax! It hurt while doing it but WOW was it heaven! Good luck...
Awww...what a cutie! I love the things kids say! I eep a journal to write down the funny things my kids say so that I can remember when they are older. :)
hahaha that is awesome! And really, she's close. Algae can result in allergies! LOL
I have a post request. Do you take those? Can you give us the skinny on P90x? How long does it take? How do you fit it in with running? Are you liking it?
I'm debating starting it but heard that you need a lot of equipment and that you need a lot of space. Someone suggested Insanity instead. Trying to decide where to invest lol.
Thanks!! :)
If I took on a program like that I'm sure I wouldn't be able to move the next day...much less run 6 miles :)
What a funny little girl. I love the comments kids make :)
I loved P90X and now have Insanity. Yes, you will be sore but that will subside. It's amazing how as runners we do something different and see all the other muscles it requires. Dizzle is definitely a good tester of muscle use! If laughing hurts, you know your doing the workouts right.
I know that feeling and I love it and hate it all at the same time.
awww...she's too cute!
i have wondered about this workout and it sounds like it is good. i met to comment on yesterdays post but sometimes i have problems commenting at work.....so here is my comment on that post too......i work out because it clears my mind and makes me a better person and because it allows me to drink wine! and btw you look great in your pics :)
dontcha just love it when you start doing some workout (other than running) and it makes you feel like you never do ANYTHING and you've just been the biggest couch potato!!! Stay tough! Allergy...too funny!!!
That is so funny! Kids are so wonderful. They make us old but keep us young! I guess it evens out.
Stop gloating about P90X! I am still struggling to give up running to cross train at all. Ugh! I know I need to do it but it's just not as fun as running! Hello, my name is Shelly and I am a run-aholic!
I have always been a runner and felt I was in pretty good shape. Then I started training for tris. Let's just say that when I added in swimming and biking to the mix, I found a whole new set of muscles I never knew I had. I was sooo sore. I can only imagine what P90x does to the body...ouch!
Your kiddos comment was too cute!
first day after my first DVD of p90x and I could barely lift my coffee cup. LOL
Cute remark! Love the things little kids say! Keep enjoying them!
I often hear the husband cursing at the drill sergeant on the dvd's. You're pretty much my hero for enduring all that craziness!
That is so cute!!! Glad to hear your are doing well with P90x :) Have a great weekend!
I love the sayings of kids at that age :) ...sorry you're so sore, but pretty sure it'll all be worth it in the end!
Hey! I just finished my day 2 workout about 15 minutes ago...the plyometrics had me sweating like a pig even with 2 fans on me. My trapezius muscle was sore throughout the night, couldn't sleep and had to take some motrin.
that's so adorable. I do hope the soreness is a 6-pack in training!! I hope some day we can get P90X; my husband wants it and I know it'd be good for him (and me)
Priceless! Awesome that you put this stuff in writing so you can remember it again someday!
Sore is good but man! I feel ya and am totally sore too!
I could barely bend my arms, my triceps were so sore from doing all the pushups!
Sounds like a great workout!
LOL at your daughter.
ok, i am so going to check out p90x! wow. look at what others have to say about it! :)
"Allergy" too cute! Today my daughter and I went to a public washroom and they had the feminine hygeine box on the wall and my daughter shouts out "mommy why do they charge us 25 cents fro napkins"....LOL Aren't kids adorable?
I told you P90X was hard. It is so tough. But the results are WORTH IT.
That's pretty cute :)! Guess the soreness means it's working...that's good- right?
Kids have the best one-liners.
Sore, eh? Definitely sounds like the 6-pack is emerging (could this be the start of a new sci-fi flick?)
Sooooo cute! Love it!
