an apology to Tony ...

Dear Tony,

I am so sorry that I broke up with you. But after the 90 torturous days we spent together, I needed a break. I thought I'd be back with you in no time. I thought that we would find a schedule that would work for us. But, that never happened. And now, seven months have passed and my abs that once looked like this (thanks to you, of course) ...

Have gotten soft. And pale. And look like this ...

I never should have left you. I know that now. And that's why I took you back last night. Why I let you push me until I face-planted during dive bomber pushups. Why I am OK with the fact that I can't lift my arms above my head and it hurts if I breathe in too deep. I need you in my life. I know that now. Please forgive me.

Love,
TMB

I have to admit, one of the best things about being pregnant is that I don't have to do any ab work...aaahhhh... But yeah, I know that in a few months I'll be in a world of pain created by Tony, maybe ;)

I've been thinking about doing that prg. You don't want to see my 5 kid belly.

Aww I don't think you're soft! It's just the pale that plays tricks on us. Why does tan always look so darn good??

You still look great! I really need to work on abs and arms too...it's just so hard to fit it all in!

You know you are still in your twenties when:

You post a close up shoot of your abs on your blog.

You have time knee deep in marathon training to do P90x Again!

You have the energy to inventory your house, track your calories in/out, blog, comment, stock your house, manage 3 active girls, be a wife, and sometimes single parent, provide your family with amazing experinces,....Do I really have to keep going?

Funny, but I have totally slacked off on my weight training since marathon training and I should now better as I am a personal trainer! You are so right, no matter what the weight training and workouts like p90x are sooo worth it!

Welcome back to P90X! Your success with it last year was one of the reasons I took it on. Luckily (sort of), Tony has room in his life for all of us.

I've heard so many great things about the p90X.

Damn, your abs are totally ripped!! Even in your "out of shape" ness you look super fit. Maybe I should give P90x a try if it would make me look like that!! :)

Hmm... I think I need to start a relationship with Tony if he will make my abs look like yours!

Kate said...

Haha! Love this!

So can you hook me up with Tony because your abs are amazing girl!

I still think your stomach looks fabulous!

Back to P90!!! God for you. I actually did some myself last night - I'm not committing to the full routine, but I do plan to incorporate a few of the workotus when I can. Started with Yoga... this is not sissy yoga! WOW.

I love Tony and his dorkiness...have you tried INSANITY??
um, yeah. Shawn and Tony would be a perfect 3-way!! (not in THAT kind of way, but you know...)

I think I need Tony in my life, if he can work that magic on my abs!

Great abs - both before and after. There's nothing better than sore abs after a good workout. I've been trying to get mine to show but they just keep on hiding, maybe this year they'll come out of their shelter.

I love this post! You are so honest about how dedicated you were to Tony, and then how you stopped. And you even photographed your belly as proof for all to read! This post kind of makes me feel better about me - I'm not the only one who has times of awesome physical fitness and health, and then it "dive bombs" a bit. By the way, those dive bomber push ups are hard core. Love 'em!

Oh lordy, if you saw my 'abs' you'd snort.

Be proud, Tonia, i am sticking to my running/hobbling/pregnant shuffling. got int 2.38 miles today before the worst shin splints of my life hit and then some random pain from the bottom of my butt all the way down my leg hit as well.

Any advice on that? I thought I stretched enough, but any tips for pregnant running?

Congratulations on being reunited with your dear Tony! I hope you two find many wonderful moments together, no matter how difficult they may be at times! ;)

I have been doing P90X again with my oldest son. We both need to loose some winter poundage. Tony cracks me up!
I often just do the workouts instead of watch the DVD. He talks too much and it takes forever!

I could definitely use getting to know Tony. Good for you.

Good luck with round 2, I am so not there yet. I am incorporating diver bomber push-ups a couple days a week though.

Unknown said...

Seriously... I need to talk to you about this. Your abs look amazing (both then and now, but I digress). You seriously got that way with Tony? I have the box set and they have just collected dust.

That Tony is a hoot. Wait, did I just say hoot?

Um, I'm still working toward your break up picture.

Go get 'em, girl!
