I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was pooped. Done. Over it. Unfortunately, with three kids, staying in bed all day is really not an option. So I got up and filled my IV with caffeine. But, I have a good reason to be dragging today. Just take a look at what I did yesterday ...
I RAN:
I got up at 5:20 so that I could meet G, Denise and Em at 6:00 for six miles before the rest of the group joined us. During that six miles, I ran far faster than the "10:44" my new prescribed pace zones called for. Plus, it was wicked hot. And humid. Ugh.
After the first six, we slowed a little, but I still failed to hit a 10:44. Seriously, this whole going slower to go faster thing is HARD. Anyway, I tried to stay hydrated with my new handheld (review/giveaway to come) and I tested out some Gu sent to me by the lovely people at Outside PR (yet another review on the way). Let's just say by the end it was rough. And I faired better than others. 2:11:51 later I had 12.7 miles under my belt and I looked like this ...

Note the now, see-through nature of my sweat-filled shirt.
THEN I WALKED:
Yup, I walked for hours on end, pushing a stroller through Busch Gardens. (Didn't really help with the whole dehydration thing.) My Garmin said we walked around four miles in the 90 degree temperatures, but it was totally worth it. Just to see the smiles on the girls' faces ...

THEN I P90X'D:
Because I hadn't spent enough time on my feet yesterday, I decided that I would stick to the plan and complete the next day of my P90X routine - YOGA X. And I totally get that you probably think that yoga is relaxing and more of a "rest day" in the P90X routine, but I'm happy to tell you that you are mistaken my friend. Instead, YOGA X is an hour and a half of pure torture. Bending, twisting, holding poses. I never thought I would be looking forward to holding a plank, but in YOGA X, the planks are the easy part. If you ever doubted that yoga could kick your butt, try this video.
So, needless to say, I'm beat. Oh, and I totally hit 36 miles this week. And did all of my P90X workouts, not sure how I got it all done. But, I did!
And on a completely unrelated note, my virtual race has had a name change. It is now the ROCK YOUR SOCKS Half Marathon and 10K. Nothing but the name has changed. And I might even throw in a prize for the person who best "rocks their socks" ...

I am exhausted just reading this...phew! If you don't know how you did all that, I certainly don't! Hope you have a restful Sunday :)
I was out of town visiting my friend who was doing P90X. I didn't want to mess up thier workout schedule so I joined in so they wouldn't feel like they had to skip a day. It was yoga day and OH. MY. GOODNESS. I think it even hurt when I blinked the next day!
Way to go...you burned a LOT of calories today=)
Can't wait to hear about your new handheld. I'm looking for a good one to buy.
now that is dedication!!! looks like the kiddos had a great time.
I must have missed the details on your virtual race. Please point me in the right direction.
The pics of your kids are adorable. The youngest with that hair. TOO CUTE

Sweet job!! I am a total slacker and have not done my P90X for the last week. I am feeling the lack of using my core too. You motivate me to get back on it!!

You have to watch those whites while running in the heat! They do tend to show off a little more than what you wanted to!
You are a machine. I a pretty sure you are a Stepford runner.
You are so beast! That's awesome! Great job this weekend! I wouldn't have wanted to get out of bed this morning, either! LOL LOVE the new name of the race!!! Very cute! :0)
