ready, set, wait ...

18 weeks from now, I will be toeing the line at my first Half Ironman, Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 Texas.

Today is supposed to be the first day of my training plan.

It's not.

I will not swim today.
I will not bike today.
I will not run today.

Because I'm sick.

I've had a fever for two days.
I can barely swallow.
I am a mucus factory.
My head is pounding.
My entire body aches.

Instead of beginning my journey to 70.3, I am fighting the Bat-Pig Flu.

Someone pass the tissues ...

Boo! I hope you feel better soon! Better now than right before the race or during peak training weeks, right?

Not the best way to start, but hopefully you can get all of the sickness out of your system now! Feel better soon!!

Hopefully you'll get all this sickness out of the eay earlier and it will be smooth sailing for your training to the BIG day.

You are un.b.leave.ably brave. Tris freak me out! I sink.

Get lots of rest.

Aaaarrrrrgggggh! I'm so sorry you're sick :o( Nothing is worse than feeling sick when you are mom who and especially a mom who is starting a new training cycle. Grrr. I'm sending you well wishes and hope you are back to your healthy self soon.

Oh, girl, I hope you feel better soon! I'm fighting a much less severe version of your bat-pig flu. I think it's just a head cold, but I'm beginning to think that a 10-mile run yesterday in the 36-degree rain was NOT my best decision...

Ugh. So sorry! Not the best way to kick off 70.3 training, but this will not derail the entire 18 weeks. My day 1 of 70.3 training was met with sleet and a sheet of ice about 2 inches thick-no run, no bike, no swim for me either! =)

You'll get there!!!!!

Being sick is so frustrating! But kudos for taking care of yourself. Good luck as you get started on your half ironman training. That is so AWESOME! I would be lying if I said I wasn't jealous!
