I'm not going to pretend that I am superhuman.
I'm not going to pretend like I stopped at just one.
I'm not going to pretend that it's still not calling my name.
I'm not going to pretend that I'm OK with my actions.
I'm not going to pretend it didn't send me into a downward spiral of bad eating.
I am going to confess that I couldn't resist this ...
Piles and pile of Easter candy. Oh, yeah, and the cookies and the fudge ...
I thought I could resist. I thought that my 30 day ban on sweets would survive. But it didn't. Yesterday, I broke into the Easter candy. And I didn't stop at one piece (hence why I need a 30 day ban).
In the last 24 hours, I ate ...
- 20 Cadbury Mini Eggs
- 1 package of Swedish Fish
- 2 packages of Runts
- 2 Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs
- A unknown amount of Fudge
- A peanut butter and Nutella sandwich (2 tbsp of Nutella)
- Copious amounts of cereal every time I walked into the pantry
So, today, I recommit.
30 days. No candy, ice cream, baked goods, sugary cereals, chocolate spreads masked as food. Nothing.
Ready. Set. Go ...

Bless you for being so honest, we all been there done that!
I can't believe you tracked it. After the 20 mini eggs, I would have just pretended I couldn't remember what I ate :)
I've been avoiding stores and their discounted Easter candy for the same reason!
as I ate a mini snickers the other day I was wondering how you were doing....oh well todays another day. No nutella even....good luck!
I just started the no sugar thing - yesterday was my first day...I cannot have those things in my house or I will eat them! It is soooo hard, but I hope after a little while it will become less hard?? We shall see. One day at a time!! Have a good day!!
I did the same thing on Sunday and actually after last night's run I was tearing through the girls' Easter basket looking for something to munch on. It's getting out of hand around my house.
Good luck on recommitting yourself. I know you can do it.
LOL. I have had no easter candy....but I must confess that I snuck out the house with a small bag of jelly beans this AM. Perhaps that will be my next post...
I just bought some mini eggs yesterday 75% off. evil!
Easter candy is as evil as Halloween candy! I won't admit how much ice cream I ate last week. You can do it...
I bet you at least exercised. I chose to drink wine on Easter and not run and then yesterday I ate cheesecake instead of running.
I think I need to join you on the 30 day no sugar thing...
I'm not sure I could go 30 days without suger. Which is probably why it would be a good thing for me to attempt. Good luck!
I had given up sugar for Lent and I would say that I more than made up for it in the past two days! I need to get back up on the wagon with you!!! Good luck with your 30 days! It will get easier as the candy leaves the house!
Cadbury Mini Eggs are my kryptonite. It's impossible for me to resist them, and it's all downhill from there.
I console myself with the fact that Easter is over, and there won't be any more around to tempt me.
Mmmmmm... Peanut butter and nutella.... :) I definitely used to have the same sort of "all or nothing" attitude but I've realized it doesn't work for me b/c I always fail the "nothing" part and end up eating too much and feeling guilty. Maybe weaning yourself off of the sugar would be more productive than cold turkey? You're strong though, you'll survive the Easter candy!
oops, i was signed into the wrong account - above comment should be under BeePie Runs ;)
Having lots of yummy apples in your kitchen should help - at least, it helps me.
I think Easter candy is justified...really! You are a strong woman for trying out your 30 day ban during Easter. Excited about your re- commitment Pulling for you!! you can do this!!
lol..That was me Sunday and a little Monday afternoon.
Well, we're all human. It happens to the best of us.
hehehe... sounds like my Easter journey this year! I told you I wouldn't/couldn't make that kind of a commitment BEFORE Easter :P Nice to know that you are human too ;)
Make it a great day!
We've all been there, my weakness this weekend was jellybeans, luckily I am not a chocolate lover so that helps me ;)
Praying for success!
ME Too- I'm putting it here, so you've got it HERE - I am stronger than the easter candy that I crave.
2 pounds UP in 2 freaking days. I hopped on the scale this am and said, "WTF.G, that is not how a GBA GF eats, true?" I'm trying to put myself back into the mindset of Food=FUEL.
I'm up 10. 10 lbs. A solid 10. I was trying to lose 7 - 10 lbs and now after all that endurance racing I am up 10. That is BEFORE the Easter candy. I think your quad much burn extra calories so you stay so lean!! No wonder you can run long and bike long and still handle your house and family.
I'm sure you can give sugar up if you want to. But remember with your workouts you are going to need some fuel which usually means carbs. Carbs are turned into sugar. I am trying Lean for Life (again). It is protein heavy. I hope I survive!
Good Luck on going sugar free!
you can't blame yourself for losing control in the face of easter candy. it's simply irresistable. but I will support you through this next endeavor!
well at least you are honest! Were you bouncing off the walls? I would have gotten a head ache. I'm sure you already ran the excess calories off. Good luck with your 30 day quest!
Just posted about a sugar detox last night. I think there's quite a few of us cutting out the sugar. I just can't let myself believe the lie that it will make me feel better. That it will give me energy. And that it will give me more patience with the kids! Here's to success for us all!!
I admire your honesty! And yay for a fresh start!
STINKING rotten Easter candy!!!!
I don't know about you, but I find it is easier to let myself have a little sugar (small handfull of jellybeans for example, or one piece of chocolate) a day instead of trying to not have any (and then wanting to eat giant piles!)
Good luck! You can do it. :)
today is a NEW DAY! we're here for you. :)
I could lie and say I am not sitting here reading this and eating jelly beans... It's a new day!
I give you sooo much credit for putting it all out there.
And I would be SCREWED with that stuff in the house!
wait you aren't perfect?! i feel so much better!!!
I cannot resist the Cadbury mini egss either! I did not evenlet those in the house this year!
You can do it!!!
Sugar - it's just like crack cocaine.
I'm certainly glad I'm not alone!!!! You have described my exact life up to and including the off the wagon back on again cycle. Good luck - it's certainly not easy!!!

I totally feel your pain.... I don't even want to know how many bags of jelly beans and nestle crunch eggs I've ate.....
I think I'm trying to eat all of the candy as fast as possible, then I won't be tempted to eat it anymore. :)
You're me but I go longer with the indulging. Good for you for stopping and trying again.
you are so honest. I have plenty of days like that, youre inspiring me to gain a little willpower with you.
And here I was feeling guilty about my doughnut...lol
Thanks for making me feel better! :)
Favorite post of the week. I'm right there with you - except I make no claims to end my sugar addiction. Good luck over the next 30 days! Feel free to empty your pantry in a box addressed to my house - I'll take care of that chocolate for you.
Easter week doesn't count. Didn't you read that in the manual? :)
I haven't stopped the Easter candy binge... but I am tracking it all, and I'm still in my calorie count... I just assume the point of 2100 calories a day isn't to eat 1000 of them in candy and only 1100 with actual food that contains nutrients. All my best wishes on the 30 day ban.
i actually have avoided the easter candy BUT i can not avoid the tagalongs
honesty is the best policy!! :) and Honestly, I dont think anyone would've survived a ban of candy during easter ;)
You can do it this time!! Nothing can stop you!! :D
seriously, we are definitely sugar buddies...I was doing so good...totally resisted several times today and then I walked by the whopper bowl and with out even thinking grabbed ONE. When I realized what I had done, I decided heck with it and followed it by two bowls of icecream, a peanut butter egg and 5 more whoppers!! Thanks for the confession because I was feeling like a total failure!! RESET!! let's do this.
Easter was almost as bad as Halloween this year at our house. Good luck!
Man, I was so impressed that I was under control at Easter. So, rather than throwing out all of the junk that I knew would tempt me, I foolishly thought I would keep it in the house & occasionally eat it. Enter in 36 hours of binge eating candy. yeah, great plan. So, it's gone now & I'm reminded that I don't do sugar in small doses.
if u need some inspiration for your 30-day sugar-fast check out my latest blog post..."is sugar toxic". it's really just a link to the NY times article. interesting tho...
OMG. I'm sure there has been many a day that I was right up there with you. Love those damn Cadbury eggs!
Kudos for shaking it off and starting all over.
Winks & Smiles,
Wifey
